How to use "Chart Seclection Page"

Basic operational process

(1)

Confirm the List shown on the right-hand side of the screen.

A tick mark is given to each chart which has been searched and retrieved.
To cancel a retrieved chart, remove the tick mark.
(3)
For each of the charts marked with a tick, the limits of the chart coverage are shown on the Map.
Click the listed chart number and title to change the colour of the limits.
(4)

To finalize the chart selection, click the "Add to Selected List" button.

Operational process on the List

(1)

By changing to and from "Paper Charts" or "ENC", you can search and retrieve any charts by categories.

You can change the selections on the tick boxes.
"W Charts Only"* W charts only will be selected.
"JP Charts preferred"* JP charts will be selected if available. If JP charts are not available, then W charts will be selected.
"JP Charts Only"* JP charts only will be selected.
"All Charts" All the charts on the List will be selected.
"Clear All" All the selected charts on the List will be cancelled.
* : Paper charts only.

The retrieved paper chart or ENC cell numbers have been listed according to types of charts (harbor plans, coast charts, etc., of paper charts) or scale bands (for ENC cells).
For each of the listed charts marked with a tick, its chart limits (coverage) of are also shown on the Map.
By clicking the chart number and title, the colour of the chart coverage area will change and you can confirm its coverage on the Map.
By removing the tick mark, the chart limits will also disappear.

Click the button to see details on the chart.

(5)

Click the button to move to the screen on which the route can be edited and saved.
This button will not be shown when the "Search the charts in and approaches to the port" screen is used because of no routes are available.

Click the "Add to Selected List" button to complete the selection of charts and move to the screen showing the list of selected charts.

Operational Process on the Map

<For Paper Charts>


Remarks: Details to be displayed on the screen may differ slightly between those for paper charts and ENC.
In the event of Route Search, the route will be shown.

The limits of the chart coverage will be shown for each of those charts with a tick mark on the List.
The limits in blue color for W charts; Red for JP charts; Green for the other charts.

By placing a tick mark in the box, the limits of each chart with respect to types of charts can be shown. Harbour charts and coast charts will mainly be retrieved when using the "Search the charts in and approaches to the port" function.

When the tick mark is placed in the box of "Non-listed Charts", the limits of the charts other than those retrieved will be shown on the Map.
This is a convenient function to find certain charts other than those on the route and/or those in and approaches to the targeted port.

(3)

By clicking in the limits of a chart on the Map, the chart number and title will be shown in a pop-up window. If there are overlaps in the limits of charts, all the chart numbers and titles will be shown in a tab style.
Click the "Details" button to see and confirm details of the chart in another window.

(4)

If you click the limits of a chart when the "Non-listed Charts" is shown on the screen, the chart number and title will be shown in a pop-up window.
If you click the "Add List" box on the menu, the charts listed on the right side will be added to the List and the chart limits will disappear on the Map.
If the tick mark is removed from the "Non-listed Charts", you will go back to the previous display screen. If there is chart newly added to the List, the limits of the chart will also be shown.

<For ENC>

ENC cell limits will be shown for each of the listed cells with a tick mark.
Cell limits in red colour for Overview in Navigational Purposes; Light-brue for General; Fairy-green for Coastal; Red-orange for Approach; Purple for Berthing.

By placing a tick mark in the box, the limits of each cell with respect to the scale bands of cells can be shown. Cells for "Coast", "Approaches" and "Berthing" only will be retrieved when using the "Search the charts in and approaches to the port" function.

When the tick mark is placed in the box of "Non-listed Charts", the limits of the cells other than those retrieved will be shown on the Map.
This is a convenient function to find certain cells other than those on the route and/or those in and approaches to the targeted port.

(3)

By placing a tick mark on "Data Coverage", you can confirm the area (coverage) in which data are available.

(4)

By clicking in the limits of a cell on the Map, the cell number and title will be shown in a pop-up window. If there are overlaps in the limits of cells, all the numbers and titles of the overlapping cells will be shown in a tab style.
By clicking "Details", the details on the cell will be shown and can be confirmed in another window.

If you click the limits of a cell when the "Non-listed Charts" is shown on the screen, the cell number and title will be shown in a pop-up window.
If you click the "Add List" box on the menu, the cells listed on the right side will be added to the List and the cell limits will disappear on the Map.
If the tick mark is removed from the "Non-listed Charts", you will go back to the previous display screen. If there is a cell newly added to the List, the limits of the cell will also be shown.
